Fahri Gökçen TANER (Attorney at Law)

In 2005, he obtained his undergraduate degree from Ankara University Faculty of Law. In the same year, he began working at Ankara University Faculty of Law, in the Criminal Law and Procedure Department, where he currently works.

During his master's degree, he carried out research at the Université Lyon-3 Jean Moulin on a scholarship from the French government, and at the universities of Rome and Bologna during his doctorate. He has twice spent time at the Max Planck Institute in Freiburg for short-term research.

In 2013, he was awarded the title of Doctor of Laws and in 2019, that of Associate Professor. In 2023, he was admitted to the Ankara Bar as a lawyer.

He is the author of three published books entitled « Statute of Limitations in Turkish Criminal Law » « The Crimimes Againist Sexual Liberty in Turkish Criminal Law » « Adversarial Trial and Equlity of Arms in the Context of the Right to A Fair Trial»

In 2023, he started providing legal services by registering with the Ankara Bar Association and moved Taner Law Firm, where he was previously a consultant, to where it is today.

TANER has worked as a court expert since 2005, and has recently taken up this activity to the extent permitted by law. He has been one of the trainers of experts and conciliators accredited by the Ministry of Justice and has given numerous certified training courses on these subjects. In addition, he continues to participate as a trainer in continuing education activities for judges, prosecutors, lawyers and trainee lawyers as part of various projects.

In addition to the books mentioned above, he has written numerous articles and participated in panels and conferences in the field of criminal law and procedure. These articles and the recordings of the panels and conferences can be found under publications.

He speaks Turkish, French, English and Italian.
